Lyrics: City in the rain
The song and its analysis is included as a chapter in Nine Cities, a Million Future edited by Cixin Liu (刘慈欣) et al. Beijing: China Development Press
In short, it is a posthuman queer love story between a human singer (the vocal of our band Alex) and a cyborg singer (myself as supporting vocal). Through the song, we imagine a Harawayian gender utopia and wish to question the boundary between human and cyborg, organic and inorganic as well as eternity and temporality.

Lyrics: Ling Tang
elude bustle hustle elude
my attitude eludes my dream (in vain)
the coded reacted to my needs
I feel the rain falling
electric horses galloping
I see automaton regimes
City in the rain, coded machines
virtual nihil
the wire the dark the set exchange
my love is true, the love is cruel
the animated feels real
I see your shape in ruin
you're craving for some pain
do you own a name
city in the rain. Is everything in vain
I see I care I dream for you
the dream the fate cannot be true
the codes the dots all hacked by you
making up my memory
I know what's eternity
simulated reality
physical virtuality
what is temporality
My love, City in the rain, City in the ruin, City in the rain
The chain, everything in vain, hacked into my vein. City in the rain, Sustain
